Privacy
Fluid5 Pty Ltd ("we", "our", "us") respects your privacy. This section explains what we collect when you visit fluid5.com.au or use a service we operate, why we collect it, and what we do with it. If you don't agree with how we handle data, please don't use the site.
What we collect
When you fill in the contact form or email us, we collect the details you choose to share. Typically a name, an email address, and the message itself. We use that information only to reply and to provide the services you've asked about. We don't sell, rent, or trade your information with anyone.
When you visit the site, our hosting (AWS) keeps standard server logs: your IP address, the pages you requested, the referring URL, and a timestamp. These are kept short-term for operational and security purposes.
Insights subscriptions and marketing emails
When you email us to subscribe to Insights (the "Subscribe by email" link on the Insights page, or any equivalent), we record your email address and add it to a list we use to send our Insights write-ups and occasional related Fluid5 updates. We treat that as your express consent to receive those messages under the Spam Act 2003 (Cth).
The list is held in tooling we control (typically Amazon SES with a list managed by Fluid5). We do not share, sell, or rent it. Every email we send identifies Fluid5 as the sender and includes a way to unsubscribe. Replying with "unsubscribe" to any email also works. You can ask us at any time to delete your address: write to hello@fluid5.com.au.
Logins and hosted applications
For the applications we host on a customer's behalf. Internal tools, customer portals, dashboards. We collect the credentials and identifiers needed to authenticate you (typically an email and a hashed password, or an SSO identity from a federated provider). Passwords are never stored in plain text. Session tokens are scoped per session and revoked on logout.
Application data is stored in the customer's own AWS account under the agreement that governs that engagement. The privacy practices for any specific Fluid5-built application are set out in that application's own policy, which takes precedence over this page where they overlap.
Cookies and local storage
This site does not set tracking cookies and does not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking. A small amount of data is kept in your browser's local storage to remember UI preferences (for example, the design palette tool used during development). That data stays on your device, is not sent to us, and is removed when you clear browser storage.
Third-party services
We use a small set of third-party services to run the site. Each is named here so you know who processes which data when you visit.
- Umami for analytics. Privacy-focused: no cookies, no fingerprinting, no cross-site tracking, no advertising profiles. The data is anonymous and aggregated. Honours Do Not Track. Opt out by blocking
cloud.umami.isin your browser. - Amazon Web Services for hosting and email. The site runs in the Sydney region (ap-southeast-2). Contact-form submissions are delivered via Amazon SES. AWS processes operational logs (IP, request metadata).
- Google Fonts for typefaces. The font files are requested from fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. We pass no personal information to Google; the request is for the font itself.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational security measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. We minimise the data we hold so the surface area of any potential incident stays small.
